On the 31st of May and the 4th of June, the SoundScapes project held its final webinar for students and teachers from Portugal, Spain, and Greece to present their final sonification projects. With over 141 attendees, including around 28 participants joining via Zoom and the rest in their classrooms, the event showcased a diverse range of innovative projects that transformed data into sound. Some examples are: a micro:bit robot and a car that can collect sensor data and sonify it; an earthquake simulation table that sonifies seismic wave data using the micro:bit; astronomy image data sonification with real instruments.
This was a great opportunity to stimulate discussions between participants from different countries and foster engagement in project-based learning following a design thinking approach using sonification tools.
Overall, the webinar was a success! Congratulations to all the participants!
